We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join an emerging technologies team based in Newcastle, NSW.

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Data Science and Engineering teams to build the company's Machine Learning capability. You will collaborate with a variety of disciplines using your talent to design, develop, and maintain a variety of progressive technical solutions for existing new and emerging business.

This role is based in Newcastle, NSW. For those outside the area, Newcastle is two hours north of Sydney, and living here will provide you a beachside location in a city with a growing technology scene.

We’re looking for someone:

  • that is motivated by building. Someone who loves to get their hands dirty writing code and testing new concepts.

 From a technical perspective, the following will set you up for success:

  • experience developing solutions in modern languages such as Python, Golang, C++ or Java

  • knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases

  • experience with emerging technology practices such as serverless architectures and machine/deep learning

  • an advocate for good software engineering practices such as automated acceptance testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevOps

  • comfort with lean and experimental approaches including rapid prototyping

  • a focus on customer service and human-centered design
